Diagnosis
Our physicians and staff perform both invasive and non-invasive studies in order to fully evaluate each patient.
We evaluate disease processes that involve the heart, such as blockages to the arteries that supply the heart with blood, reasons for heart failure, or for irregular heart beats.
Studies are ordered after the patient is seen and evaluated and it is determined that it is medically necessary for the thorough evaluation of the patient. Studies may be ordered to help determine the presence or extent of coronary artery disease, the function of your heart, or irregular rhythms and the causes of such.
People who have had a heart attack or who have angina or chest pain may have a heart catheterization. The treatment of coronary artery disease is based on many factors. They include the symptoms of the patient, presence of other diseases, severity and extent of coronary artery disease, location of blockages, degree of individual blockages, function of the heart, and presence of valvular disease. Blockages in the arteries that supply the heart with blood are not the only reason to visit a cardiologist. Sometimes you may have an irregular rhythm that brings you in for evaluation.
